Love Lies Bleeding
We're excited to announce our events programme for this year's Women X Film Festival which will compliment our 73 short films screening.
For the first time ever we'll be including a FEATURE FILM, the Rose Glass directed Love Lies Bleeding. This will be the first stage in a 3 year plan to introduce competitive feature film screenings as part of the festival. We'll also be screening a special feature presentation of In The Veins with a panel discussion, courtesy of our partners Yorkshire and North East Film Archive, with both of these screenings supported by Film Hub North with National Lottery funding on behalf of the BFI Film Audience Network.

In The Veins
These will be alongside our exciting line up of Writers Lab Sessions, Filmmaker Roundtables, Creative Craft Networking and our popular previously sold out 2000's Inspired Film Quiz. We'll also have two networking drinks evenings supported by our newest partners Women in Film and Television UK and STEMAZING who share our vision for better gender parity in both the industry and in STEM.
This year we celebrate 73 female led short film productions, 20 finalists in our script competition, as well as 75 emerging filmmakers on our honours list. We're also proud to present our first Alumni Jury who will be judging our Best Student Film Award and Best International Film Award. Alongside our newly formed Youth Film Jury Programme, where young film enthusiasts in the North East will receive training ahead of judging a winner for the Youth Film Jury Prize.

Tabby McTat
We'll also be working with Magic Light Pictures again to bring two of our family screenings to audiences, a relaxed screening of Tabby McTat for neurodivergent families and The Gruffalo which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Families can also enjoy crafting together before or after their screening.
Festival tickets and passes are available via our website, we look forward to welcoming audiences back to the Darlington Hippodrome and The Hullaballoo Theatre, as well our newest venue Darlington Library
All our love
