Women X 2025: Day One

Welcome to the first day of Women X 2025!

It’s been a long lead‑up and now we’re finally here in Darlington. If you haven’t grabbed your ticket yet, there are still plenty available online and some screening tickets at the door. 

Doors are open, screens are ready, events queued up – let’s go!

📅 What’s on today?

🍿 In the morning / early afternoon

  • At Darlington Library, the festival kicks off with Among Us (66 min) at 11:00, followed by The Winner Takes It All (60 min) at 12:30, then a Filmmakers Q&A at around 13:30.

  • Between 14:00 - 15:00 take a break, stretch your legs, or explore the town centre — plenty of great independent spots to grab lunch!

 🎥 From mid‑afternoon onwards

  • At Darlington Hippodrome / Hullabaloo Theatre:
    Circle Of Life (60 min) starts at 15:00
    Drop‑In Crafts: Palestine Flags of Hope from 15:15‑17:15
    • Industry Panel with Neeraja Raj from 15:30.
    As We Are (60 min) with intro & Q&A around 16:45, followed by Beyond Borders at 17:00.

  • Remember there is no access to the Hullabaloo until 2:30pm as it’s used as a childrens theatre before then, so don’t be too keen!

👩‍💻 Evening highlights

  • Opening Night Drinks (Women In Film & TV) at 18:00 – come mingle.

  • Then screenings: Pillow Talk (70 min) and Hell Is Other People (60 min) both from 19:00

  • Craft‑based drop‑in session (“Horror Cross Stitch”) at 19:45‑21:30

  • Late night screens: Eye Contact (73 min) at 20:45, and The Body Knows The Score (60 min) at 21:00
