Women X 2023 – Day 1 Schedule

Welcome to the first day of Women X 2023!

If you haven't picked up your ticket yet, don't worry – you can buy one online or on the door at the Darlington Hippodrome. We've got screenings and events going on until 9pm, too, so there's still time to swing by after work.

📅 What’s on today?

🍿 We’ve got six strands of short films screening today.

Join us in the Little Cinema for Thicker Than Water at 10.45am, Conversation Starters at 1.45pm, Searching for Connection at 3.45pm, Something Wicked This Way Comes at 5.45pm.

🎥 Meanwhile, in the Hullabaloo Theatre, The Motherload strand is screening at 2.40pm, followed by Hell is a Teenage Girl at 4.45pm. All our screenings will be followed by Q&As with attending filmmakers.

👩‍💻 In our festival lounge, you can get some inspiration with our writers' retreat at 10.45am, meet other like-minded filmmakers with our networking session with Messy Collective at 2pm, unwind with some canvas painting at 3pm.

🎙️ Our live podcast sessions will be running between 11am and 1pm, then again between 4pm and 5pm.

🛍️ You can also pop in at any time to browse our shop stalls – our partners Tillie Rose Studio and Spilt Milk Press will be selling gorgeous prints and stationery, and we'll also be selling RP merch at our front desk.

📝 Finally, after the screenings and events have wrapped up for the day, we're hosting a 2000s film quiz in the Hippo Cafe at 7.30pm. Bring your movie trivia and we'll provide the nostaglia – and suitably retro prizes for the winning teams.
