Sunderland Shorts

First and foremost, we were honoured to attend the Sunderland Shorts Film Festival recently where we checked out some of the fantastic short film selection and hosted one of our coffee mornings, there was also a great session on film festival strategies too! It was great to catch up with some Alumni and meet some new filmmakers, make sure to check out their highlights and winners over on their website.

The deadline for our annual script competition is fast approaching next month! This is a fantastic opportunity for film writers to showcase their talents and be part of Women X Film Festival, For more details and to get a deeper understanding of what we’re looking for, be sure to check out a handy little breakdown we did on Instagram along with all the entry criteria over on our website, there’s a £100 cash prize this year!

Scammers are back

We’ve just released a new episode of our podcast series "Film Festival Scammers." This episode delves into the dark side of the film festival circuit, highlighting some of the common scams and how to avoid them. It’s an eye-opening listen for anyone involved or interested in the film industry, so make sure to tune in as we cover hotel extortions, AI feedback, fake judges and cancelled screenings in the most recent episode.
